Leaving from your Hotel by Jeep, this tour takes you inland to one of the most beautiful forest areas of the island, passing through typical streets which are mainly used to transport agricultural goods that supply the population living in these rural areas.
The tour first takes you to “Ribeiro Frio” where you will have the opportunity to visit the trout hatchery and also enjoy a walk levada to the beautiful place called Balcões (optional).
This pedestal itinerary takes about 40 minutes, along what Madeira has of most pure and beautiful - its lush green nature!
From there the safari continues through Cruzinhas and Cova da Roda (outside normal road).
A Stop for a BBQ lunch will be made at Queimadas (depending on weather conditions).
After lunch this tour continues towards Santana, Faial and Porto da Cruz where your will visit the Rum factory.
The return to Funchal will be made over the Portela Pass, where a short stop will be made to enjoy the spectacular view over the Madeiran coastline and Machico, the town where Zarco, the discoverer of Madeira first landed.
