The tour commences at the city´s most elegant avenue, considered as the heart of Lisbon, the Avenida da Liberdade, famous for its history, fashion and business life.

Rossio is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful squares in the city, a living storybook reminiscing the time when the royal family often frequented the area to enjoy a play at the city theater (The Teatro Nacional D. Maria II). Following Rossio is the Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square), a majestic and mysterious arch that was once the main sea gate into Lisbon.

Relax and take a seat while enjoying a coffee at the first café ever in the city. This well preserved café still functions to this day serving its visitors by candlelight.

Traveling along the longest river in the Iberian Peninsula, the Tagus, we reach the famous 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Linking the north of Lisbon, with its suburban areas, it is one of the twenty longest suspension bridges in the world. From here the Cristo Rei (Christ the King) monument is clearly visible and seems to greet us with open arms.

Next destination is the town of Belém, located on the Tagus River bank, a bank from where the famous Portuguese ships once set sail during the era of conquests and discoveries. Here we will learn about the age of discoveries through monuments such as: The Belem Tower (light and delicate in design looking more like a fairytale castle than a fortress) and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (monastery), where the remains of Vasco de Gama and King Manuel I (the king who named a unique decorative style after himself “Manueline”) lay.

Also in Belem, stands a modern statue, a monument to pioneers, which features Portuguese navigators, artists, poets and royalty.
